If Engineering sucks, what not does? After all Engineering is a qualification which gives a title to bear and work in a company you like to target with various perks. The work requires satisfying not only client, but project engineer (very tight ' connections' as I really suck at 'sucking up' to the 'right' people.

Description:The size of the reward in addition to the competitive nature of the business creates some incentives that lead to trust and ethic issues. That is, meetings, bureaucracy, incompetent management, documentation, etc. In my last job I worked on real-time signal processing code, and there was a definite lack of software engineers who understood the low-level code and the various target platforms. And then the people that work on these things have their work diminished in complexity, just because it is perceived as boring. Does being an engineer suck so badly that it drives FIRE? If I had to choose him or me as an employee to write code, regardless of language, I'd choose him, objectively.
